The grooming is excellent, the lifts are fast, the gondolas are new, and the food incredible. It is pricey but definitely worth it!..

Ajax is 4 chair lift that brings you from the middle of Aspen Mountain to the top. Views from top are awesome. Runs are black and blue, so they are not for beginners. The runs are located mostly in forest aisles and are beautiful. Good...More

If you've got skills on the hills, Ajax is for you. Probably the mountain with the highest steeps per acre anywhere. Chutes, glades, bumps, jumps, old slow lifts to dissuade the weak and whiny. A place for real skiers. Not for beginners.

At my age with a bad knee, I stay on the groomed blue runs these days. Gent’s Ridge had some beautiful runs. My kids enjoyed the black runs in that area as well. Ruthie’s also had some great runs. Shadow Mt is well named, light...More

We spent our last day in "Aspen Mountain". It is a good skiing area. But you wouldn't have much sun during the whole day because nearly all slopes are in northern direction. The view from the top was very awesome. More over there are not...More

Love the mountain in both summer and winter. In summer the trails to the top are perfect and one will reach the summit in about 3 hours. For skiing the Gondola will take you to the summit and then bliss for the downhill ski

We skied at Aspen Mountain during our visit. While Mother Nature didn't provide much snow during our visit but we still enjoyed the variety of terrain and the choices for food and beverage on the mountain.

Great mid-level skiing for the whole family. Enjoyed great food at the restaurant at the top of the gondola.

We are non-skiiers so we caught the gondola to the top of Ajax/Aspen and took the snowshoe tour. It was the highlight of our trip. Excellent guide who was passionate about the history and environment of the mountain and told us things we would never...More

Though the natural snow still is lacking, the man-made stuff covers a nice skin route to the top on freshly groomed corduroy. There are dozens or early morning skinners ascending before the Gondola starts uploading and the ride down is always sweet, arching big turns...More

Hi Karen, I don’t ski - my other half is the skier. Your best bet is to Phone a local ski shop, ask for a local who skis and have a discussion with them. Just about everyone, in most shops are Aussies who live and work... More
