We were spending some time in Aspen and just enjoying the town when we found this spot quite by accident. My husband and I had enjoyed John Denver's songs over the years and we saw him in concert when he came to our city. So...More

If you are a John Denver fan you have to visit. Even if you are not you still have to visit. Beautiful park. Great design concept. If you are lucky you might get to see the frequent kayakers that descend the creek that goes through...More

As you hike the Rio Grande Trail. Nice idea, the boulders with Denver’s songs chiseled in. Great place to sit and contemplate his lyrics with the river in the background. Ideal in non snowy conditions as some stones will be covered.

Really nice in winter but in summer must be awesome. The words of Denver’s songs are etched onto big rocks - a stream and lovely views of the mountains - and it’s free!

Because it was winter, it wasn't totally visible due to snow, but the rocks with John Denver Songs engraved on them were awesome.

Take a stroll and read the lyrics inscribed on the boulders. If it doesn’t invoke emotions you need to look into yourself. Walking around this memorial really let you understand the man and his music. Do you not miss visiting this locale if you are...More

I loved the John Denver rock garden! The stones were beautifully etched with the words from many of his popular songs!

As you might imagine Free and Aspen not always go together. However, this is a must see visitor's site that I hope remains free to everyone. Already a historic memorial to John Denver, is the place to relax and enjoy nature, hope you agree!..

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
