The boarding station for Silver Queen Gondola is located right in the heart of Aspen, and takes you to the top of Aspen Mountain (Ajax to the locals), along the way seeing the town of Aspen drift away while you then enjoy amazing 360 degree views of the incredible Rocky Mountain surrounding the charming Sundeck restaurant and lounge at the... We didn't want to ski, but we wanted to see the views and area mountains from the top of Aspen mountain. The gondola ride was a great start. Your $32 non-skiing ticket includes a $10 credit at the restaurant on the top. Fantastic views!! Sit outside or inside. Soak in the scenery, the cool air, and spring sun. Food was... More

We skied at Aspen and this is a great way to get up the mountain. Very comfortable. It was not a busy day and we never had more than four in a car at once (we rode it eight times that day...a big day as we skied over 30,000 feet that day!). But I think it would fit six. We... More

This is not a small gondola like Snowbird where I usually ski. This baby is a bit scary. you are going to be off the ground really far. Time stands still.

We got on the gondola in the winter just to see the views. We were not skiing. It was amazing. Just going up and then back down was worth it. Definitely recommend trying it even if you aren't skiing. The views are just amazing.

I'm scared to death of high places. I get nervous when I climb a ladder. I didn't have a problem looking out of airplanes. But standing on the top floor of the Hancock Building or the 66th floor of the Willis Tower in Chicago was frightful. Did I tell you how uneasy I felt climbing to the top of the... More

We took the gondolas to the top of Aspen Mountain. The views were stunning! We were there in December when the slopes were just opening and were able to watch several people skiing on the slopes below up. We had lunch at the top were there was a casual lodge-type restaurant and a souvenir shop. It was a real treat!
