This was our first time at Buttermilk at which we had planned on a half day. We wore our gear on the RFTA bus from Snowmass and jumped off at the Buttermilk bus stop with our skis. It’s a decent walk to the base area. All of Buttermilk's lift operators were friendly, as were the base greeters. As advanced skiers,... More

During our 5 day visit to Snowmass, we spent one day at Buttermilk to experience a different mountain and see some of the XGames warm-ups. We found our way there on the public bus; it was super easy to get there and seemingly free. For a couple of 40 and 50 something aged people, we were happy for the long... More

I was with a group of friends this last weekend in Aspen for a ski week. It was a mixed group of people who had skied before and some who were skiing for the 1st time. I hadn't skied in over 10 years and my fiance had never skied so we took a group lesson with 3 of our other... More

Great place to visit on a powder day, as the advanced runs are very quiet, as this mountain attracts lots of beginners. We had a great day, even though it was snowing, lovely quiet powder runs.

We travelled with a 7 years old kid who was experiencing his first time skiing. We had chosen Buttermilk because we knew it had a good reputation for beginners, and decided for group lessons. First, when buying tickets for the next day, we were told that classes would start at 9:00, and that we should arrive earlier for equipment fitting.... More

As a beginner skier and having just come from a week at Beaver Creek during the holiday season we found Buttermilk to be fantastic! Wide terrain to negotiate which was great!!

I have snowboarded for more than half my life. There is little progression for me to do on a snowboard left. So I decided to give skiing a try. I signed up for a lesson at Buttermilk Mountain. The Lesson was bit slower to progress than I had hoped. It really was a very BASIC lesson and mid day I... More

Great beginner mountain! Lovely, long, green runs down the mountain! The blues on the mountain were also manageable to beginner skiers as well!

Nice introductory slopes for novice to expert skiers. Can get busy at times but the on-site ski school have an excellent "snow-magic" package that includes equipment hire and lessons. Clifftop restaurant has a surprisingly tasty range of options with an international flare.
