Beautiful, serene location

This mountain was right out our "back door" while staying at the Inn at Aspen---green & lovely in the summer, with abundant wildlife & trails to hike.

I've always wanted to hike to the top of Buttermilk in the summer time so today I just did it ! It's difficult but very rewarding . Bring water ! Dress accordingly ... I wore hiking pants and a tank top and a hat . Wear sunscreen for sure ! Very beautiful . Can't wait to do again . Take... More

I learned to ski on Buttermilk Mountain 43 years ago and then learned to snowboard there 23 years ago! A great family friendly mountain.

Best place to ski with young and young at heart skiers. Easy access and fun terrain parks for families with young kids.

Buttermilk is a great mountain with lots of wide, virtually empty, terrain for recreational skiing. Just need to watch out for true beginners who are skiing without instructors! Not a challenge for experienced skiers who prefer Highlands or Ajax. The mountain has wonderfully convenient accessibility by car or bus, and there are absolutely NO lines anywhere on the mountain. Amazing... More

This was our first visit to Buttermilk and we really enjoyed it. The mountain is perfect for ski /snowboard begginers. Since my husband and I were new at snowboarding, we liked the fact that it wasn´t crowed like snowmass, and so you felt more relaxed, and had definitely more space to practice without worrying about colliding with another person by... I took a beginners ski class here and my boyfriend took a beginners snowboarding class. We had a great time and got a lot out of our lessons. Since it was the end of the season, our classes were super small (1-2 people). My instructor was wonderful. He was very patient and persistent. He made sure I got the most... More

This was my second visit to Buttermilk mountain, this time for the X Games. Although the mountain is uniquely qualified to host the 'Games, its apparent that the event will eventually need to expand due to crowds and popularity...a good thing.
