We were thrilled to hear about this from other travelers at the Ritz. It is a beautiful little hike, not too far to walk to be in the heart of the mountains!

I've been here a couple of times and I try to do it beginning of spring since you can see ice caves there. It is a nice easy hiking trail.

When the sun is shining into the grottos it just lights up. Interesting to see how a little bit of water can carve the rock.

Location: It's on your left about 9 miles east of Aspen if you're traveling westbound on Highway 82. If you pass Weller Lake you've gone too far. Easy hike through dirt and smooth rock surfaces. Just follow the signs and your ears and you will see the ice caves/grottos and continue up to the top of the falls. Great photo... More

This is a hidden gem---many people drive into Aspen & completely miss this; when you see the "Grottos Trail" sign, turn left & down into the parking lot. There are the Ice Caves trail, the Cascades trail, etc. All of it is very charming & easily done; take your time & enjoy it!

Pretty area with picnic tables and trails along the river. Waterfall was pretty for pictures. Water is very cold.

This trail is easy and rewarding. There are several options from where you start at the parking lot. You can head down the trail just to the left before the bridge and a few hundred yards later you’ll be rewarded with a full on view of the cascade waterfalls. This is usually a pretty good photo op if there rocks... More

Absolutely beautiful hike. I am by no means an experienced hiker, nor in great shape, but had a lot of fun exploring these trails. Couldn't figure out how to get into the ice caves but they looked spectacular from above, and the cascades were amazing. Although there are plenty of smooth walkways, it can also get pretty rocky so thick... More
