We did this pass together on a Harley Davidson road trip. It’s spectacular and so pretty! This was in June, sun, still some snow, we are lucky to get a chance to see such a pretty sight!

Despite my best efforts to avoid the Pass, my GPS lead me to it with no turning back. I won’t lie, it’s a terrifying drive, if you’re afraid of heights. My husband isn’t and even he felt a bit anxious. Nonetheless, the views were incredible....More

Some of the most scenic overlooks in the area are along this narrow mountain road. I always take the pass towards Denver when it’s open. Highly recommend stopping along the way and taking photos. There are many quick hikes/trails if you want to take in...More

The pass opens in June and is often walled by snow in early June. Switchbacks are numerous and reminiscent of southern Switzerland, northern Italy. Pushing a Porsche 911 through the turns you will be rewarded. Ok perhaps a BMW M series as well. If you...More

Scenic drive up and over the pass very good indeed. After approaching from Aspen, and climbing up narrow roads with some hairpin bends the road levelled out and started to descend, we thought that was it and nearly turned round, so glad we did not,...More

It is a nice scenic drive from aspen to the pass. Bring a sweater it gets cold at the higher elevations.

This is a must-do drive when in Aspen. It is very close and easy to get to from town. The scenery is breathtaking. The road is narrow and winding, but for me at least, not as bad as some other reviewers have said. Just be...More

I would give yourself a couple of hours to go from Leadville, through Twin Lakes to Aspen, especially if you want adequate time for some photo stops. It is a beautiful route and there is no reason to hurry. But you may need... More
