We took the ferry from Jacksonville to Amelia Island. The ride is very short but saves about 45 minutes off your trip to the island. The cost is 6.00 per car & worth the ride!!

Crossing the river on a ferry is great therapy for some. The St John’s ferry operates on time and efficiently. The ride is only 10 minutes.

Used the ferry to take a short cut from Jax Beach to Ameli Island. Very useful, but remember that ferry only leaves on the hour and half hour.

The waiters at lunch told us about this. It was fun, but very short. I cost 6 for a car. It would be fun for kids

If you're heading from the beach area to Little or Big Talbot Islands or even Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, this is the shortest route to get there. It's well worth the $6 cost (each way and additional $ for passengers on the weekend). It is a...More

Yes, this is just a ferry ride BUT for families with children, it is neat for the kids. Our children think it's neat to drive up on a ferry and the cars ride across instead of always crossing a bridge. The kids think it's neat...More
