Beautiful water, good (but pricey) food and drinks.
A bit of a drive, especially if you’re staying south of town. The beach and water are awesome, although the water bugs (sand fleas? Leaches?) are annoying and they do bite when you’re out swimming. Food and drinks are good, but pricey. Great service and fun atmosphere. They do provide shaded seating and partially submerged tables and chairs for in-water dining. It was a fun experience overall.

Really not worth all the hype
Honestly not worth all the hype. We were there this week and I was quite disappointed. All the reviews about bugs, leaches and rough conditions of all the bars and facilities are true. Shared nasty bathrooms ect. Im not prissy but we drove past alot better places to stop and enjoy the day on the way to secret beach. The social media folks do a great job promoting the spot because i was expecting alot more and in person it is a let down and we stopped at all the bars out there trying to find one we wanted to hang out at. You spend money to get there and once you’re there remember your gona pay double for food and drink cause it cost them to get that stuff out there and you have no were else to go. Love the island love the people live the water but just don’t set your sites to high about secret beach. You’ll probably wish you stayed at your resort/ hotel and partied and didn’t rattle your kidneys loose.

    It was ok…
Secret Beach is quite a distance from town on unpaved roads. Interesting view while getting there via golf cart. It was ok. Warm water, some sea lice. Live music, lots of Americans, some dogs. Didn’t order food but there was covered seating. Large bar. Several different areas of Secret Beach. Lots of covered lounge chairs. Looked clean and safe.

    Watch out for Sea Lice!!!
Beautiful beaches, amazing resort style clubs, and lovely clear blue water....but seasonally they have really bad Sea Lice or as locals call them, sea cockroaches!!! They are like little slimy snot maggots that attache to your skin when you walk in the water, especially when you stir up the sand. You have to pull them off your body and its terrifying and disgusting. We literally drove 40 minutes from town, slathered on sun screen, ordered a drink and went in the water....in 30 seconds we came running out and were mortified! We packed up and left the beach after finishing our drink. We were so disappointed. Im told they are bad June through August but I can only confirm June/July timeframe they are there!

    Secret Beach
I enjoyed the different opportunities like a massage and kids water obstacle course. I was disappointed with the wild side of young teenagers drinking and intruding on relaxation and safety. Poorly supervised. 45 minutes golf cart ride from where we stayed, The Palms Ocean Front Suites😅

A Fun Time, Loved The Experience
I had never seen anything like this, where you could eat on the after, the beach chairs and umbrellas were free and the water was so clear you could see fish swimming around you. Our children were able to find some sea creatures and learn more about them, including some hermit crabs and conch. We had a lot of fun. Other than kids trying to sell us stuff, we had an excellent time. We were nervous about taking a golf cart 50 minutes from the resort, but it ended up being safe and okay. I definitely recommend staying close to other carts going in and leaving when others start leaving so you can feel safe. We had fun!

Happy Island Beach Bar and Grill
This is the best restaurant location on the beach. No rocks going into the water, lots of umbrellas and very comfortable lounge chairs. The staff is so thoughtful. It was my friend’s birthday and they decorated where we sat and gave her a birthday sash to wear. The burgers are amazing and made with a homemade thick beef patty, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Shout out to the friendly and helpful staff, Jerry, Rovin, Israel and the lovely owner Melissa. Added bonus that there are adorable puppies hanging out there.

    Lovely day at Secret Beach
The beach was really lovely. The water was very warm & clear. In the other reviews there was mention of sea lice. Between myself, my husband & my daughter we had a total of 4 sea lice between us. It wasn't nearly as bad as some people wrote. The food is definitely priced for tourists. My daughter had a cheese burger @ Pirate's & it was really good but expensive ($20 USD). We brought our own beer & water but you can also buy it there. You can rent ski-jets, paddle boards & floaties. There is also a water/bouncy play area on the water for kids. Would definitely recommend.

Worth the long golf cart ride.
Great place to sit and chill. Lots of options for food. Not good snorkeling. This is more of a sit in the water type of place. It is beautiful and the servers will bring food right into the water for you. Takes a bit to get there in a golf cart. It’s worth the trip.

Drinking in the ocean - can't be beat!
Quite a drive to get to Secrets Beach, but gave us an excuse to put some miles on the golf cart we rented - we were also able to see a lot of the island. the road starts off paved but the last stretch is unpaved and rocky. It was definitely worth the effort, but make sure you give yourself plenty of time. There are lots of different "venues" that are all kind of similar but have their own twist. They all seem to be a variation of a restaurant, lounge chairs, and tables in the middle of the water to enjoy your beverages. They offer tableside service to the tables and the lounge chairs. The water is about chest high almost 100-200 feet in. There are no waves to deal with. I've always thought the perfect experience would be a bar in the ocean - which has obvious difficulties, but they solved them.

Secret beach definitely worth a visit for a full day of fun! Lined with a few beach bars/restaurants and a water park for families to enjoy! Many have tables in the water & serve food/drinks to you. Blue Bayou was our favorite!

Fun time had by all. Sat in one of the picnic tables in the water with my travel partners. You can get served in the water. My little fish were around your feet. Went on a Wednesday early around 10 AM. Not hard to find a space. Didn’t venture more than the first spot that you come to but it was nice enough. Took a picture by the beach sign

It’s a beautiful place beach to visit, but the customer service was not good at all. The food was mediocre and when asking to remove an item bc it was not good and undercooked, we got alot of pushback, as if we didn’t want to pay. I even ask them to accommodate and discount the shrimp mac n cheese, and they were very rude about it. They guys out there for jet ski were very nice, but next time we visit, we do NOT plan to patronize their business again!

Beautiful beach with clear and warm waters. This beach was definitely not a secret as it’s a big tourist spot now. It has a lot of bars and restaurants that serve directly in the water which was fun

The beach was absolutely beautiful with the white sand and crystal clear water. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. I did not have food, but the frozen drinks were excellent. The golf cart ride from town was bumpy, but we'll worth it!

Lots to do for all ages. Water sports, massages, bars, music. My son enjoyed the afternoon. The drive out there was a bit much, but overall a great afternoon of fun.

We rented a golf cart and drove a few minutes from our Resort to get there. Some of the signs to get you there were funny but you can not miss the beach.

It has everything you need....food, sun & fun!

This place is over rated. The chairs and umbrellas are complimentary, which was surprising, but the attraction is all hype. It takes forever to get there by golf cart, was super crowded when we went, the snorkeling is not good, the only plus is there is a sandy rather than a muck bottom off the shore. Not worth the trip unless you just want to say you’ve been there.

This place is awesome. Felt very comfortable there not much wind on this side of the peninsula kid friendly with their waterpark features. Drinks were good with a good service while in the water there is music on the beach but it’s nice to bring a little speaker if you’re gonna sit on the table in the water Went there earlier in the week liked it so much we came back later in the week. Very friendly staff.

Not a secret. Many bars along the strip. Not really a beach to just lay a towel down and relax. More of an entertainment area - tables in the water, a waterpark, beach volleyball, massages, music, food, jet skies, etc. The water is beautiful, calm and able to walk out a long ways. Most were barefoot, but I found water shoes to be beneficial.
