Beautiful reef with tons of species of fish. If there is one thing you want to spend money on to do while in San Pedro, make sure to snorkel the reef. The guides were wonderful and the fish amazing (and I don't like the water)!

I snorkled here three times during my week in San Pedro. Once with Ecological Divers, then with Catamaran Belize, then with Inland and Sea Tours. I highly recommend Inland and Sea Tours. Their Divers/guides were the best for safety AND they took us there an...More

Visited Hol Chan with Belize Pro Dive Center. Nice shallow dive with a ton of marine life and coral, then the snorkel trip. Lots of nurse sharks and rays. Weather was great and it was a fun excursion.

I'm planning of going to Belize this August. I would like to know the best snorkeling and dive sites if you may. I plan to spend most of the time in Ambergris Cay. Is this a good spot? My friend went to Palencia (?) and he was not happy with the dive. Which resort can you recommend and which dive tour did you go or can recommend? Thanks.

You will love snorkeling here. Look for any excursion with Lil Alfonse. I have a review on him. We stayed at the Xanadu Island Resort, which was wonderful. If you don't stay there, call them as they will know how to set... More

I get very seasick on a boat OR snorkeling/floating for too long; are there patch reefs where you can stand on the sand now and then? Do you have to cross open water for long on the boat to get to the snorkeling sites?

The boat rides to Hol Chan are inside the reef so the waves aren't bad at all. I take bonine for all boat rides but on this one it's usually about 5-6 minutes on the open water and not very bad. Nothing to stand on once... More
