Great place to spend the day! There is a great bar and grill called The Lazy Lizard that has excellent food and cold drinks. The split is a body of water separating North and South Caye Caulker. It is a great place to snorkel for free. There is a...more

This northern 'beach' becomes something of a leisure hub for the Caye. Highly beautiful and/or highly avoidable depending on time of day and the particular crowd that has taken over... But still, unmissable.

My husband and I loved jumping of the platform into the water and lounging on the beach. The Lazy Lizard bar was just how a beach bar should be. Fun drinks and good music. This place made us want to come back for a week...More

you can't go to Caye Caulker and miss it. It's the place to hang out! It's probably one of the biggest establishments on the island. Have a drink, jump in... enjoy

The story of the split during the 1961 hurricane and the recent rejuvenation of the northern end of the split is interesting. Otherwise, the Lazy Lizard is a typical beach bar which just happens to have the location, location, location. The beers weren't particularly cold,...More

Wonderful place to just hang out, have dinner and drinks and watch the sunset. Both times we went sun went behind the clouds before it set, but still a great experience. Food and drinks were yummy and fast service.

This is the spotwhere everyone on the islad hangs out during the day. Tables in the warm water make a great spot to swim and drink. A must when visitnig Caye Caulker

Not sure what all the fuss is about this place.... More like a parking lot than a beach. Concrete everywhere, dusty and uninteresting. There's many better options on Caye Caulker to have a beer and enjoy the sun. Skip it.

Since the hurricane tore up the Split & the Lazy Lizard last year, they have rebuilt just about everything. There are now cement walls to protect what little beach area there is and a high dive platform for the adventurous.

The split is the best place on the island to swim! With greats drinks and food, although a little pricey it’s worth it. The water is kept clean of seaweed so it’s clean and clear. Beautiful place to take a dip on those hot days.
