While perhaps not unique, this remains a fantastic place to spend the day swimming and refreshingly cool water. You can also climb the nearby rock walls and jump from the cliffs, some of which are quite high (the highest is maybe 50 feet). We spent...More

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It’s not easy to find, so get very good directions before you set out. A picnic and water shoes are a good idea. There are quite a few stairs and you’re climbing over boulders so you...More

We went on a Sunday afternoon after visiting Rio On and Rio Frio caves - it was pretty busy here and the hike is actually quite steep in some places, but totally worth it. The falls are gorgeous - we swam as close as we...More

We didn't have a car so we hired a cab driver from San Ignacio for 70BZD ($35 USD) roundtrip – it was so worth it! It’s about 1.25 hours to the waterfall (paved and dirt roads). The waterfall is located within Mountain Pine Reserve and...More

To go there is a bumpy ride and you need own vehicle or off road motorbike as me. The waterfall turn off is not well marked. You have to follow the sign Blanconeux Lodge and latter you will find the sign waterfall. When you get...More

We went on a Sunday and the place was packed which probably detracted from our experience a bit. I imagine that if you had this place to yourself it would definitely be a 5 star. There is a steep climb down and the wooden stairs...More

The waterfall is breathtaking and jumping off big rock is one of our favorite memories! Warning: the climb down to the river is strenuous and the stairs are not like the US (bottle cap treads)!

We drove there ourselves which was an adventure in itself. Christo Ray Road which heads south from Santa Elena is paved half way so I would recommend it rather than the shorter Chiquibul Road leading south from Georgeville, as it is completely unpaved with some...More

This place is stunningly beautiful! It is paradise! The walk down and out of the waterfall area is a bit of a challenge as it is a steep climb in and out! However, it is very doable and should not intimidate or prevent you from...More

We hiked from the Blancaneax Lodge up river. The hikes about two miles, up and down on an improved path. Wear hiking footwear and take PLENTY of WATER . The falls are nice and there is ample room to view them. The descent into the...More

It wouldn't be worth it unless spending the night in the Pine Ridge Forest area. You have to cross the entire country to get there and it would be a waste if you didn't see all the things in between. If you were going to... More

It's a pretty good hike. If I remember right, about 2 to 3 hours.
