Pascual Abaj is an important local shrine. The hike up there is a bit steep, but short. If you go early enough (6am-ish), you can witness ceremonies.

You take a long and healthy walk to get to the top of this hill and you'll probably witness a Mayan ceremony there.

It's a bit of a climb to this shrine, but well worth it. It's in almost constant use. Just be respectful and don't intrude on the ceremony. You'll get a real sense of this ancient religion, still alive and well.
