I recently stayed in Zone 10 and was pleasantly surprised by Plaza España...from its spacious and beautiful gardens to the feature fountain, this is a haven to enjoy!

On our drive through Guatemala City we came across this plaza and it has a small garden area with a statue, fountain in the middle in honour of King Carlos 111 if Spain. Apparently it is a safe place Foran ending strolling week lit.

Located in Zona 9, it is a safe place for a walk. In the center of the Plaza de España is the fountain of Carlos III in honor of the King of Spain, Don Carlos III. Many elements tell about the discovery of America and the history of Guatemala.

This would have been a must see a hundred plus years ago, but now a symbol of a grand place long time replaces with commercial businesses. Worth a few pictures and a cheap taxi, or a walk if not too far. Does Have Some Nice Tile Mural Benches with nice Fountain.
