The botanical garden is small but well stocked with many many different plants. Did not give it 5 stars because the museum is not very nice. However, the gardens themselves are worth a visit and it's a lovely respite from the city.

The garden is well-kept and has a few specimen trees and plants. There is no guide and several of the plants are not labeled. Upon arriving the gate was closed to the parking lot. I had to get someone to open it then they had to call another person to sign me in and take the money. There is a museum at the same location. It has a few interesting things to see.…

The garden was not in bloom. It is very nicely maintained and would be nice at the time of flowers. The other part of the exhibits of minerals, animals, insects, and fungus is more in a second grade field trip. It is inexpensive

I love botanical gardens, so I am already biased. What Guatemala’s Jardin Botanico lacks in diversity, it does compensate in charm. I suggest you avoid their “museum” altogether, which is completely unremarkable (and, to be honest, a bad joke of what a museum should be), and instead go straight to the garden. Most plants are not identified, and I would have loved to see more diversity. A nice place to spend a couple of hours or even a romantic morning or afternoon. Make sure you pay a visit to their amazing, big, century-old euforbia. Too bad their hours are pretty restricted, as they close at 4 pm.…
