Guatemala City doesn't have many "must see" attractions -- especially with many museums closed by COVID. We visited the relief map while waiting for our departure test results and were pleasantly surprised. A fitting conclusion to our 3-week road trip around the country.

It is very pretty to see our Relief Map, it was made many years ago but is a place that we like to go and we recommend for tourism.

This relief map is huge! You get a bird's eye view of the whole country and get a sense of where you are and where you'll go. It took the people 50 years to build this and it is absolutely worthwhile!

It was fun to pick out the places I had visited, but at the same time, it was hard to get the overall concept. The best part was talking to the friendly guide.

We love it! It is an unique piece of art, a must see place while in Guatemala city. It is a simple but a very authentic piece of art to see.

50 years to measure so accurately. The dedication to their journey is mind boggling.
It is worth a visit for an overview but you should have a guide to give the history and basic info

We visited before a tour of Guatemala. It was great we would see where we were, & where we going. We had a birds eye view in advance of the geography and the topography of the land. A must see if you are in Guatemala city.

this was the first one for me, never saw a model of entire country with volcanoes and river valleys in 3D form to scale and constructed about 100 years ago

When I told my blind companions that we were going to visit a relief map of the entire country of Guatemala they were not that keen. Can we touch it? No... However I was able to describe to them the variation in heights of volcanoes compared to the low lands of the country and we were able to walk around the entire area and get a sense of the 1:10,000 scale model. It’s incredible that the map’s creators travelled the country by donkey over 15 years before the relief map was completed in 1905. Truly remarkable.
