- Elk555Boston, Massachusetts272 contributionsLarge zoo with many animals and sea animals tooThe zoo has many animals , including sea animals. They have a program where you can feed the giraffes for an extra fee. Unfortunately the day we visited they were not offering that program. They have parking on site. You can buy your tickets online or on-site. Very nice signage with descriptions. The visit was very pleasant with lots to see. I would say you need at least half a day here. They have restaurants at the front. But I had snacks. Bring a hat and sunscreen. We forgot ours and it was HOT.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 March 2023
- Nino SPalmetto, Florida8 contributionsUnexpected FunI needed to find a place to hangout prior to my flight from nearby La Aurora Airport, and found this gem. There are a great variety of animals, mammals, reptiles, birds. The facility is clean and well cared for. The animals were quite active mid-day in early April. The water features here and there and natural trees throughout add to the peacefulness all around. There were plenty of children’s activities available. The value for the entry fee was very high. Unfortunately for me was most signage was solely in Spanish. So I carried my backpack around only to discover on my way out there were hidden lockers you could rent. So, if you’re like me ask at the entrance or get a brochure/map. ( I got there late and thought i’d be running through so didn’t bother. It turns out it was Easter and they were not rushing anyone out, so I stayed long past the posted entry hours)Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 14 April 2023
- DudesAdriftDallas, Texas331 contributionsWonderful International ZooOne of the nicest zoos I have visited in Central America. The exhibits are excellent, the animals look happy and healthy, and it is obvious the the zoo is always making upgrades and improvements. It is a vast beautifully gardened and maintained facility! We loved it and will encourage others to visit. Allow as much time as possible to take in this park. It is delightful and educational.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 July 2023
- Fiona KMelbourne, Australia15 contributionsBetter than expectedMuch better than I was expecting. The zoo was actually quite big. There is a place to eat food before or after going to see all the animals. Most animals seemed well cared for except there was only one elephant, which I expect is very lonely. They need to work on population control with their baboons and gazelles, there were far too many for the size of their enclosures.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 August 2023

We enjoyed our visit to the zoo.
Don’t miss the few “tree tops” to better admire the animals.
My only complain is that there are not many spots to seat down and there is a lot of walking. Bring comfy shoes!!

Visited the zoo today. Was keen to see the aviaries and birds. It was really busy with many young excited children who have a chance to see animals they will only encounter online, television or in books.
However, many of the larger animals are in enclosures that are far too small and some were exhibiting stressed behaviour pacing endlessly in a similar pattern.

Very nice zoo. My kids loved it , definitely will be back here. It was worth the trip from Antigua to the Zoo. I liked the guacamayas the most.

we didn't get to see all of it because of time constraints. We did the VIP tour and that was such an awesome experience. We got to feed a giraffe, an elephant and a rhino. We learned a lot along the way and were so happy we did it.

This is a great Zoo that has many different animals. It takes about an hour and half to see everything. Definitely worth checking out when in Guatemala City.
