The new building was slated to open several days after Guatemala was closed due to Covid restrictions. It was done so to protect the visitors, staff, and especially the children who will flock to this place. It is "hands on" and designed to teach and learn. A tribute to Mayans and lessons for all. It will be an amazing experience for all ages when the museum does open it's doors. Hopefully soon.…

We found that there was no information availbale saying this museum was closed. We walked around a while trying to find an entrance. Eventualy went into the mall and was told it was not open.

We tried to visit this museum on Sunday 27 January 2019. It was closed. People in a nearby shop told us it was shut for renovation. Do not set out for the Miraflores mall and the museum without checking very carefully that it has reopened.!!!!!! We had a wasted morning, which was most annoying (although the shopping mall was rather fun- albeit like anywhere else in the world, except for the people).…

Nice and small museum with some artifacts of Guatemalan mayan history. Also has a small live snake and tarantulas and a small gift shop.
