Free entrance but unfortunately no photos allowed to be taken. We were fortunate that someone passionate about the history of Guatemala gave us a tour. He knew his stuff and it was educational to learn the evolution of Guatemala from the time the Mayan civilization to Colonial and Federation period. …

Some great examples of coins and bills from the beginning of the Guatemala banking. Lots of the presses used to stamp coins with several dies. Very well done displays. But NO cameras or photos allowed. Brochure in english, but not the displays.

I came here at the recommendation of a friend and enjoyed a very nice walk through of this museum! It's free, which is always a plus! The museum is very well done! It houses a large collection of coins and bills spanning all of Guatemala's currency. It has many molds to look at as well which I thought was neat. Most of the displays are in both English and Spanish (so what I couldn't figure out in Spanish, I was able to read in English!) The workers there were incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed inside the building (that's why people have only shared pictures of the outside). If you have an extra hour in your day, this would be a great way to spend it!…
