We camped in site #82 4 nights and loved it all except for a trail experience. But first - our lovely site sat high on a NW facing bluff. It has an odd little deck with a sliding gate - great if we had a pet or toddler. Short walk to very clean bathrooms and we used the laundry ($1 ea for W or D). A dry front blew in one night at 3 am and it was crazy windy in our little TT. Enough so that on our departure day when a very stormy rain front was coming we left at dawn. 3 of us decided to walk the 1.5 mile campground loop trail which begins near the dump station. On the map it was marked red & black then it separates to just black. The trail was marked white and a yellowish green. Saw some red blazes but zero black. So we missed that turn and wound up near the Beach!! Long walk down the main road back. Luckily we were up to the 6.7 miles we walked!! Nice and helpful office staff. A great stay just need trails marked better.

This is a beautiful campground. And we had no mosquitos or gnats..but there is a horrible ant issue here. Pretty sure every rv was infested and many of the vehicles. If you plan to camp be sure to take something to put around points of contact with the ground and enough to reapply after the rain.

We ADORE the walk-in tent sites at Mistletoe and we've been on a few of the nature hikes too. The sites - they feel private and secluded, although only about a quarter mile from the car. You can swim and lounge in your hammock and feel a million miles from civilization (sites 2 and 4 are the BEST). Even the RV sites are well spaces and feel private. The beach area is lovely and the facilities are lovely.

My one and only issue? The woman at the gate house, the one who greets and interacts with every person entering the park, refuses to wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic. As a representative of the state, and one that we're forced to interact with, I would hope she was friendly towards public safety and maybe just a bit more pleasant.

One of the top campsites we have visited in Georgia. There is so much to do! The lake is big enough you can find a quite spot away from everyone. We booked a campsite in the cove, and still were able to pull our boat up right next to our campsite. I would recommend coming in the summer, despite it being hot, since you are right on the water.

This beautiful park, just up the road from Augusta, has tons of things to do. According to the rangers and some of the other visitors we ran into, this place has amazing bass fishing. We saw boat ramps, playground equipment, a swimming area, several places for picnicking and grilling, and several hiking trails. You could spend several days here, and it’s set up to do just that either tenting or even with some cabins. This is a beautiful areas with tons to do - just a wonderful place to unwind!

First visit. Seems to have a lot of RV ers. There are tent sites as well as camping cabins. I tent camped.

I was just off the lake, but had a lovely lake view. The desk was right, a beautiful site. Please check the sites in person prior to picking one. The original site was not motorcycle friendly.

There are bath houses with large showers. I never saw anyone in the one I used. The site had a picnic table, a lanteen post, a fire ring and a sand packed area for the tent. I would recommend. They have canoes for rent, and had a childers fishing rodeo the Saturday I left.

Great park.

Sure it may be an out of the way spot but it is well worth it when you're out I-20. Plenty of stuff to do not dealing with the lake. The rangers were helpful and the trails are neatly kept. Enjoy.

We got some of our best sunset pictures on this lake and enjoyed long walks and bicycling on trails and roads. Other campers in March seemed to be serious sportsmen/women which made for nice quiet days and evenings but also less of a sense of community that we sometimes get among fellow campers. The great facilities deserves special mention. This was the best maintained of the 10 or so parks we visited on our trip!

Stopped here on a whim on my way to Florida and was not disappointed. I am fairly certain there were only 2 other campers on the grounds, which left me to a few square acres of lakeside property completely to myself.

The sites were large, clean, and well-maintained, with mine requiring a 5 minute hike from the parking lot, more than worth it for the privacy it afforded me. The ranger at the entrance was very helpful and friendly, a great way to start a camping trip in a foreign land (Georgia).

Could only stay one night, but would have moved in if they'd let me. One of the nicest sites I've stayed in, just wish I had explored the park more. Next Time...
