You cannot climb this temple anymore. However it is still extremely impressive. Both up close and from a distance. Best place to get pictures from is Temple II which is directly opposite.

I coudn't climb, but it is still fascinating. The pyramid, 48 meters, is not the tallest And it is one of the simplest structures with three rooms on the top. It was the tomb of King Ah-Cacau

You can easily spend a whole day at Tikal. Very interesting, a real lost city in the rain forest. Wear long trousers and sleeves, there are many insects. It is a must do experience.

Temple I is the first temple you come across when you are on the path and it is a sight that stays with you. No longer allowed to climb but you can still climb temple II.

Approaching the Plaza from the Visitor Centre and entrance, along a path through the forest, this temple is the first to greet you. On a clear day, and against a blue sky, it's magnificence is accentuated.

This is one of the more impressive temples in Tikal. It is situated in the Grand Plaza and is definitely worth the visit.

The temple 1 is very impressive. It's a shame that people are not allowed to go up to the top anymore. You still can sit on the stairs and take great pictures.

This temple is cool, and it is the iconic temple for Tikal. It is in a grand plaza with other structures that are very interesting as well. Be sure to explore them. The park does not allow you to climb this tower (unlike the other...More
