I am a solo 50s female traveler and was planning a sept visit to get certified, so this question is about safety traveling to utila. Would it be wise to just fly from san pedro sula to utila? and is utila safe itself?

Hi! Traveling through Honduras is pretty safe - keeping in mind to stay away from sketchy areas and being out during late hours. We recommend either flying from San Pedro Sula or catching the Hedman Alas bus from the airport... More

Wondering if there is telephone service to USA from Utila???anyone out there with answers???
Hello... I plan on being there around Christmas time.. do i need advance reservations? The problem is, my dates are not fixed yet and i am hesitant to make any online reservations. Also - what are the timings for the class instruction and the open water diving? How long does each session last? Since the courses span over 3-4 days, are there specific dates when you start a new course, or can we enroll for any date? Do you guys shut down during Christmas/New years?
