On three out of four of our trips to Utila, we've spent time on the Cays. The islands are TINY (about an acre to an acre and a half each), quiet, and house a small fishing community of about 200 people. Pigeon Cay and Jewel Cay are connected with a bridge and are pretty much the same island. The locals... More

A great stay on the Jewel caye! A highlight of our trip to Honduras. Much preferred the vibe there to Utila. We stayed at Hotel Kayla-a perfect location. The locals were friendly and we felt very safe.Great snorkelling around the island. Went diving with Utila Cayes Diving-a very memorable experience! Highly recommended!

This island is ideal if you are looking for relaxed, diving experience. Healthy reefs, whale sharks, rays are common to see. Also known for the night experience at bars. Food and lodge are cheaper here than most Caribbean islands.

I honestly cant see a trip to Utila with out going to the cays for a day. Went with new friends and family and we had a blast just chilling in the shallow waters as well as snorkeling. Cant wait to go back.

These islands are a 20 minute boat ride from Utila, through the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. These islands are fishing villages, where a small number of families make their livelihood from the sea. There are some very nice houses, parks, and churches on the islands.

The island is very small with the population crowding around the ferry dock. The parties and music start late and end yearly. The island is a hot spot for world travelers on a budget, divers, and partiers (who are many times all 3!). The views are spectacular, diving is far beyond your imagination, and the locals are typically friendly and... More

Slightly difficult to get to, but very worth it. Utila is a lovely little island with a mix of local flavor and expat additions. Not to mention the excellent diving that is to be done!

Hire a boat to drop you off and pick you up to enjoy the beautiful beach, palm trees, and peace! Lounge in the shallow clear waters and enjoy your friends.

It's a place lost in time. The reef isn't exactly pristine but it is protected and you can tell the dive shops really know where their bread is buttered. Places to stay range from backpacking hostels to give star resorts. The main street is relatively clean and you always feel safe there but if you head off the main street... More

Utila cays are just beautiful. It like paradise. Warm a calm water, coral reefs everywhere, palm trees... just remember to bring enough food and water to stay the whole day.
