Cayos Cochinos

I love the tour of Cayos Cochinos, the water was beautiful. Except the incident in the hotel that really left me with a bad impression of Honduras.

We had a great tour out to Cayos Cochinos from Sambo Creek with touristoptions dot com,The snorkelling was prestine. The reefs were perfect. The lobster and fish lunch on the beach at one of the twin islands, which is inhabited by the Garifuna was fantastic.

We snorkeled at several sites around the island, saw lots of neat fish, healthy reefs, and some sea creatures (rays, eels, turtles, etc.). The beaches are limited and generally somewhat rocky. Some wildlife in terms of iguanas, boas, agouti, and birds.

We did a day trip to Cayos Cochinos through a tour company out of La Ceiba (http://tourscayoscochinos.com) and it certainly whetted my appetite for a longer stay on this beautiful chain of tiny islands. It's pretty much the quintessential Caribbean experience: White sand beaches, pretty water, good snorkelling, sleepy little Garifuna villages here and there. Tours always make me feel... More

Cayos Cochinos is the type of place you might dream about, but never get to know. It is truly spectacular, a perfect mix of lovely Caribbean beaches, tropical forests, and a native Garifuna Community that lives much like they did over 200 years ago, when they first got to Honduras. Best of all, it is only a short, 45 minute... More

A trip from Sambo creek near La Ceiba to cayos cochinos is amazing and loads of fun! Definitely not something to miss! However many resorts and hotels 'arrange' a visit to cayos cochinos and charge a fortune - to avoid being scammed by local hotels and resorts do your homework into local tour operators - try tourist options - they... I visited Cayos Cochinos and it was beautiful. They're islands in the Caribbean and the place is beautiful. We stayed there only for a day, from morning to afternoon, so I cannot make comments about spending the night there. I visited this place in July of 2012. I hope to visit this place with my family. I took a boat... More

Thanks to Melvin and his crew at touristoptions dot com, we had an amazing trip to Cayos Cochinos. We were picked up in front of our house and drove to Sambo Creek where we departed by boat to the islands. We snorkeled, swam, and even took a short hike through the tropical forests at one of the islands. Everything was... More

Hard to get to, so it keeps the majority of tourists out. We booked our tour through Omega Tours, which, with a few other groups, joined up with Touristoptions.com. Wonderfully friendly, informative guides took us snorkeling (best snorkeling ever, saw more animals snorkeling that I have diving!), a short hike through one of the islands and got to hold the... Crystal clear waters, nice reef, good food. the trip in the boat a little uncomfortable but it is worthy you have to go to La ceiba, Sambo Creek specifically
