An unusual place for a dog.

We stopped here to take a picture of this dog as part of geocaching. There is some construction going n in front of it. It was cute!!

I am very impressed as to how clean the city streets are in Athens. It makes for a good walk downtown.

A few years ago, Athens resided to make a few dozen large Bulldog sculptures - have local artist paint them as works of art - and scatter them around town. Each one is unique. This is one of the reasons Athens is a Unique southern town.

The bulldogs (or Bulldawgs) one finds throughout Athens and through Five Points and other areas were commissioned by the Athens-Oconee Junior Women's Club and are a special little treat one comes across throughout the city. There are something like thirty-six of these statues which were created by local artists. Each one is unique and each has its own name. When... More

Our family loves to Ty and find these as a fun side thing to do when we are in the car. It's really nice to see art displayed everywhere. We are planning to start a photo album of them.

This art exhibit has become an Athens tradition. Even as a local, it is fun to try to hunt them all down and take a picture with them. I'd like to make this into an actual "scavenger hunt" someday.

I want instinctively dislike the bulldogs because they represent football, which means so much to a lot of people, but just means terrible traffic and a town full of drunk buttholes to those of us who love the downtown area. However, it kinda gets art into the eyes of people who might otherwise never notice, if only because the art... More
