Recommended by the staff at the Welcome Center, we were not disappointed! Fortunately for us, there was an arts festival too! The joint was jumping! We toured the house, which was nice then walked through the craft/art displays. We could have spent hours, unfortunately we had to get back on the road. The staff & volunteers were friendly & helpful.... More

This is a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth a visit. The space has gallery showings and a gift shop and often there are children's fairs and workshops offered. This is a community center and an historic setting.

The house was being painted but we were able to tour the well preserved home, fully furnished. Admission is free but donations are sought. Upstairs in the newest wing are exhibits with both local and other artists. We spent about 1hour. New gardens are going to be installed out the front and will be in the area to help inspire... More

We visited the art museum and attached home on our vacation to Athens. First stop was the art museum with "new" art - that is a curated collection of paintings and other fine art with a gift shop. Attached to the museum is a perfectly preserved historic home. It is fully decorated in reverence to its long history. I was... More

First, it is free. Second, they always have an exhibition and they are really good. During the summer they offer art class for kids and they are affordable and fun for the kids. They also offer art classes for adults which I plan to take in the near future.

Lots of interesting artifacts and beautiful period pieces. Self guided tour with QR readers as guides give a lot of interesting information about the house.
