These are the greatest gifts to take back to the mainland, other islands of other countries as they are tasty and the variety of great. Our grandchildren like watching the staff making the candies through the large windows. Not to mention the free samples and coffee available. We buy many boxes as gifts and head to the post office to... More

This was my second visit to this place. I was brought here by a local years ago. I protested since I don't like sweets that much. Well thank God the person I visited insisted. I had to drive from Kona to get there but it was worth it. They make the best shortbread cookies period. Imagine a buttery cookie without... More

The free samples are enticing and only encouraged us to buy more. These treats were all amazing, pretty much everything you could imagine for Hawaiian sweets and local flavours. Don't skip the coffee when you first walk in.

As you enter you receive a small cup of free samples and there are further free samples of Kona coffee and candy products inside. If you find that there has been a large group just prior to your visit some of the plates of free sweets might be emptied. Just circle around and wait ..... they fill them up fairly... More

Stopped here as part of a tour. If you have a sweet tooth then this is the place. You can watch all types of sweets and chocolates being made through the big glass screen that divides the store from the kitchen. Lots of samples on offer as well so no chance of buying without testing first Came away with gifts... More

We stopped here after visiting Hawaii volcano national park before heading back to the Kona side. This is a nice. Big factory and store with lots of candies and cookies. They offer samples which helps you decide what delicious treats to buy.

While visiting "the other chocolate and nut" establishment, a visitor told us Big Island Candies was "much better!" This we had to see! We were met at the door by a super friendly staff member named Pua, who immediately offered fresh sweets and coffee! The facility is clean and modern with large windows through which we observed staff creating a... More

You can actually watch the ladies hand dipping the candies on the assembly line. And, they have samples galore! So, so good! This is a great place to buy gifts to send or take back home.

This place was recommended by a local as the place to go for chocolate and shortbread cookies. Upon walking in we were handed a small sample cup of two of their cookies and candies. There are also samples for quite a few of their other treats. Worst part of this was trying to decide which to buy. Everything was soooo... More
