Slow go to get there, but worth the time. I loved reading about ancient peoples way of life and all that it entailed to survive on a daily basis. Added bonus was exercise and a little culture for the kids.

This was not on my radar but I pulled in when I saw the sign en route to the Pololu Lookout. I was only expecting to see the remains of an old village--and I did. What I didn't expect was the gorgeous setting! The water...More

Very great historical site. Great map and mile markers with explanation. I love history and enjoyed it. Very interactive walk and sites. Water is crystal clear and walk is easy. No bathroom and port-a-pottie was horrible. Very hot location. Take water with you.

There are a lot of ruins right next to the seashore. There isn't much shade, so it can get warm. There are some recreated structures made of wood and thatching.

I was pleasantly surprised by the information supplied by this brief stop. But you do need water sun screen and the ability to walk over uneven ground and rocks. Much better and more interesting to see how life really existed.

We were traveling around the island of Hawaii on Rt.270 and we came across this historical park depicting an ancient Hawaiian fishing village. There was not a visitor center to speak of but they had a portable toilet on site. The park consisted of a...More
