We stayed in this area for 3 days. This is the main island airport city and is within an hour or so of everything on the island.

Easy to drive route. Roads are well maintained compared to Oahu. Too many pot holes on Oahu. Kauai roads much nicer. Drivers are more patient and Curtious.

Lihu'e is one of the prettiest of the Hawaiian islands. Beautiful waterfalls and canyon. Easy to get around by car. Definitely worth a visit.

This is not a fun sexy town where you hang. You get in, get off, get out and don't come back till you leave.
