Great Beach no one knows about

This was a great beach. We had it all to ourselves. It's about a half hour past Garden of the Gods. The road is very rough but if you take it slow you'll be fine. It's a huge... read more

This was a great beach. We had it all to ourselves. It's about a half hour past Garden of the Gods. The road is very rough but if you take it slow you'll be fine. It's a huge beach and we were the only ones there. We ate lunch on a massive private Hawaiian beach. It doesn't get any better... More

This is the end of the road if you're visiting from the Garden of Gods. You definitely need a jeep to get here, and it took another 30minutes of unpaved and bumpy road driving from Garden of the Gods. But well worth it. After Garden of the Gods, you will likely need to put your Jeep into 4x4 mode, as... More

Lanai is a perfect example. On the east end you've got a beach where the sand was made by wave action, On the west it was created by current. So what's the difference? The difference is measured by the nature of the dangers. When wave action is a factor you have to wary of rip tides. These hazards dissipate when... More

You must have an appropriate vehicle to manage the dirt, cratered road, but it is worth the trip. You drive through the Garden of the Gods to get to the beach. Chances are great that you will be alone on this long pure white sandy beach. We walked along the water for over an hour and had total and wonderful... More

This beach is very hard to get to. You need a 4x4 and the willingness to go through a rough unpaved road with ponds of water to drive through. You are not supposed to be able to swim here, so we probably cannot recommend that, but will say we saw it done. The water is clear, but did not seem... More

So glad we made the trip out here. Our kids loved running up and down the long deserted beach and the rocks jutting out into the water are quite photogenic.

It's about 1 hr (longer if you stop at the Garden of the Gods) dirt road to the beach. A bit bumpy, but not too bad. The surf and currents are too strong so no swimming is recommended at this long and empty sandy beach. It’s still a nice walk and it’s good for ATV activities.

We took our rented jeep down to this beach. It took a while, but it was beautiful. We were the only people down there. Only come down here if you have a four wheel drive vehicle though!

It was a little daunting getting here if you've never done any off-roading (just because of the bumpiness, nothing a newbie can't handle). The beach itself is very nice; no one around and picturesque, but it isn't suggested you swim here. I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first stop.

The beach was deserted and lovely, though a bit windy. The view is spectacular. The drive was slow but manageable and bumpy. The main downside was that the soft top jeep the other couple we saw on the beach was filled with wasps when they got back to the parking. Our hard top jeep had many wasps around it but... More
