This was one of the best stops, takes a while to get up there, but totally worth it! Trust that when you go through the clouds and rain, you'll likely come out the other side in sunshine. Bring a sweatshirt!

Amazing drive but not for the fainthearted, hairpin bends spectacular views, sheer drops, steep inclines. As you drive up eventually you will probably end up in the clouds, but when they clear the views take your breath away. There is a tourist information stop about...More

This was an amazing ride above the clouds. The day my son and I drove up,, it was so clear you could see the big island from the top. And so much to see on the way up. Worth the trip

This is really cool to vist. The road is lot lot better then Hana highway. It does get really high up there so make sure you dress warm. The wind is crazy strong up there. I wore pants and a long sleeve shirt and because...More

Of course most everyone knows that when you go to Maui you have to go to Haleakala! Twists and turns that you'll only find in Italy! We didn't do the bike ride but our kids have and definitely would recommend the sunrise experience with the...More

Not to miss this stop if you are in Maui! Beautiful view of the crater and the road is not that difficult to maneuver. At the top of the crater on a cloudy day, you feel like you are on top of the cloud. A...More

This Highway has a lot more to offer than watching the famous Maui sunrise or sunset. With many lookout views and short hikes, its no wonder it is part of the Haleakala National Park. If you drive it in the morning, it is cooler for...More

We took the highway for sunrise and it was beautiful coming back down. On the way up, the turns made people carsick. You get a few "butt pucker" moments on curves with big drop offs but the views are awesome and you can see out...More

We drove the Haleakala Highway all the way to the summit to see the sunset. We stopped along the way at both overlooks and both visitor centers within the park. The road itself is in very good condition and is well maintained. The road travels...More

I am from Switzerland and I am known high mountains. The most beautiful was for us the beautiful, curvy road up to the summit building and the beautiful, wide view on all sides. Sunrise or sunset could be very beautiful from here! The mountain landscape...More

We took about two hours to do the drive to the top where the viewing point is. Actually, it is a good highway with plenty of railings for safety. We stopped on the way down for lunch.
