We just drove thru this pass south to north and there is alot of construction which I guess has removed all the switchbacks. We did drive the back road from Ait Benhaddou so not sure if we missed the switchbacks prior to getting back on the N9 not far from the summit. Enjoyed the back road more. Beautiful scenery. Driving... More

We did this on motorcycles and it was a stunning ride with magnificent scenery! Allow enough time for this pass and the beautiful views.

We had the luck to go through that pass after a snowstorm. Magnificent landscapes, and still a very safe road

The pass has something like 360 switchbacks (per our driver), so I spent a good bit of time with my hands over my eyes, but it really is beautiful (over 7000 feet at the top). They are working to widen the road, which will make the experience less scary when completed, it is about 1/2 done now. A very special... More

Add 20% to the time estimated by Google maps. It’s a very pretty drive even if the desert haze blocks some of the view. The high pass is undergoing major reconstruction on the Marrakech side and threading all the manic traffic through the middle of an active building site is just part of the Moroccan charm. Take appropriate drugs beforehand... More

We travelled from Ouarzazate to Marrakech in a 4X4 van. The trip took us through the mountain pass and over High Atlas with its high rugged mountain terrain and sweeping valleys. The scenery was nothing short of spectacular, the natural landscape of massive rocks threw off colours in all shades of brown, red and orange; deep in the valleys, the... More

The trip through to Ouarzazate from Marrakech takes in this pass and some of the scenery is breathtaking. It's slow (don't expect to go any more than 20mph). The people selling local quartz and fossils know all the good view points and can be a bit of a bother when you're trying to take in a view but it's a... More

You'll pass through Tichka on your way to Ourzazate, whether it be by car, bus, motorcycle or foot. When I last went through it was undergoing heavy repair and roadworks, so be prepared for terrible signage, semi trailers roaring down the mountains at you, gravel and dirt during higher passes, and next to no OHS. Sure the views are nice'ish,... More

The drive to get you here plus being here is beautiful! Made by nature and totally untouched by man! Reminded me of Petra.

At the elevation of 2,260m, its the highest mountain pass of North Africa. Half the year around its may have snowfall, sadly this year there was none. When we got out at Col Du Tichka, it was very chilly and windy. Amazing picturesque view all threw the driveway but so is the case with most of Morocco's landscape anyways.
