It was a welcome relief to emerge from the medina into this large spacious square full of government buildings and to sit in the winter sun. It gave us a sense of the pride the nation of Tunisia has in its independence.

A very bustling place with lots going on. Popular with locals and tourists. Good choices of restaurants and cafes. Options for shopping too. Many places to see.

This Square is located on the west/southwest of Tunis city center and it is surrounded by a number of attractions.

The Kasbah square have witnessed important historical events way earlier than Hafsids. Their thumb print is present with the Abou Zakariah al Hafsi mosque. La Kasbah went through the Turk, Spanish, French and the current governments. In recent years the Arab spring has flourished here....More

It is a beautiful square and have many monuments and building around it, but it needs to be cleaned specially from cigaret filters.

Nice and big squere but not much hapening on it during our visit. Just a few people around but nice views of the suaounding buildings. Also good photo oportunity with red Tunisian flags around...
