This was definitely the highlight of our trip. I was a little apprehensive at first that this would be a cheesy tourist trap, but much to my delight it was anything but that. We took an open 4x4 out to the bush which was a fun experience in its own right. Once there we were briefed of the dos and... More

Never thought I would have this opportunity to walk with Lions. A bus collection from our hotel at 6.30am & then a brief stop at the Office in Victoria Falls to complete paperwork & pay for the experience of walking with Lions. $150 USD...they accepted Visa card payment, others paid in cash (USD Or ZAR). We were then taken on... More

I didn't know what to expect when I signed up for this and I was so glad to have this experience of a life. Our group walked with a pair of 18 month old siblings in early morning. They were very active and played with each other a lot and at one point even tried to run away to do... More

I never imagined I would ever experience walking with lions, sitting with them, stroking them and talking to them. My first concern was would they be sedated to make sure they were safe. They clearly weren't, they were just young and used to human interaction. They clearly trusted their rangers implicitly and found the human interaction enjoyable. An amazing experience... More

The walk is contrived and the lions are 'only' 18 month old cubs but they are still plenty big enough. It was a thrill for us and the photos are the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend it.

My husband and I had a great time at the Lion Experience. I believe strongly in their goal of increasing the wild lion population. We walked with Lala and Lello who were 18 month old siblings. Their fur felt like silk, and it was simply an amazing experience. The staff were very helpful in guiding the lions to avoid any... More

I believe this may have been the highlight of my holiday. spending time walking around with these big cats was an amazing experience. They were well behaved for 19 mth old lions. They were a joy to spend time with.

This is a exciting, educational, and fun experience. And the money goes to a great cause.  The lions are not drugged and are healthy. My friend was apprehensive about it at first but then felt at ease when the animals came out and she saw how calm they were. The goal of this program is to rehabilitate the lion population... More

Walking with lions is very expensive, 150 dollars per person, but worth the money. The price includes pick-up at the hotel, walking with lions, and a lovely breakfast outside if one chooses the morning session. I was in a group of 5 people, and we walked with two 18-month-old lion sisters Lala and Lila for over an hour in the... More

Our African tour guide told us this lion encounter organization was under a cloud of suspicion on how their money was being used, treatment of animals, and even that these animals were being killed after they became too unsafe for the 'walk with lions' part of this encounter. She said their tour company will no longer participate with this organization.... More

Hi Debo, firstly, thank you for the review and the questions. It is a sad fact that the large majority of activities which allow animals and tourists to interact with one another (do and rightly so) have a cloud of suspicion over them. They are usually unethical, both from the animal welfare point of view and the monetary one. Thank... More
