Bordering Burkina Faso and accessible via rough tracks, the park is inhabited by many wild animals you may not be used to see often in Western Africa. Due to the lack of funding and state support, the park sometimes looks a bit abandoned and the hotel Pendjari is not reviving the impression of recent investments in the region ! Still,... More

I was there for three days in the dry season so shouldve seen a lot more animals than we did. Not up to par with anything in east africa or southern africa at all in terms of facilities. Some of the animals I did see were lion, Antelope, Elephant, hippo, warthog, Cape buffalo but overall a little disappointing. I recommend... More

We visited Pendjari in mid November. It was mid-dry season and the park administration was doing the annual controlled burn of the dry grasslands. We were told that the burn was done to prevent an uncontrollable wildfire that would likely occur later in the season, as well as to promote new growth for the animals to eat during the coming... The biggest park of the West Africa. It was an amazing experience. Our guide, Karim, an wonderful human being and a lovely father, managed to visit all the ares during two days at the park. Great souvenir. If you are near Benin, you should definitely go visit the park.

Contrary to South Africa the park here is less organized. But the guide we took was quite good and experienced. We travelled in the morning from Naititingou to the park (approx. 5h). This part of the trip should not be underestimated and make sure your car has 2 extra tyres. The road into the park can also be very bad.... More

We stayed there only 2 days. The visit was very good. We had the chance to see also some lions. Many elephants, buffalo, Hippopotamus, baboons and many birds I don't even know the name. The camp was good and well maintained. Food decent and overall very good experience.

Pendjari Park in Benin was my first visit to Africa. As a respite from the rigors of The Peace Corps, my son accompanied me. We stayed one night in Nati at the Tata Samba hotel. However, if one wants easy access to the park, stay at the rather shabby but acceptable hotel (not the lodge) and you are right there... More

Our experience in the Pendjari National Park was absolutely fantastic! However, we believe the key to a really good experience is by obtaining a really good guide! We feel we would not have seen half of the animals without our guide. Alfred, the owner of Camp Numi outside of the Park, recommended a couple of guides and helped us secure... More

A true gem in an area where wildlife and natural areas are rapidly disappearing. I've been twice, and both times have been wonderful - tons of elephants and ruminants, hippos, crocs, baboons and monkeys, warthogs, a honey badger, an small cat whose name I forget, 2 hyenas, and 11 lions (4 lionesses the first time, and 2 males, 4 females,...
