Because of the building work going on for the casino project the beach is not to be visited. Not a great location anyway.

I personally don't consider this beach to be a prime choice in Praia. One may walk along it either on the way to Prainha or Quebra Canela - two beaches located a little further on though one may eventually come across some colourful shells.

Although it's a decent venue for festivals and the like. Sadly it's just a not very aesthetically pleasing place, either as a beach or in terms of the views it offers. For swimming head to e.g. Prainha beach further round the coast instead.

This is one of the two decent beaches in Santiago Island, and iis the only one near our hotel. The sand is dark and very fine, so it flies around in the strong wind. The water is very clean and calm,, because it is protected by the natural bay. However, there are NO FACILITIES there-- no bathrooms, chairs or umbrellas for rent-- you are on your own. There are two places to eat and drink nearby-- Kebra Cabana and the much nicer Bica D'areia. …
