Pleasant for morning, day and evening strolls

The avenue conveys a lot of history as well as comprises several pleasant restaurants and cafeterias. Many interesting public buildings are also to be found along the avenue.

One of the most beautiful streets in Africa. Fabulous old buildings plus the cathedral and spotlessly clean which is unusual for any capital city.

This beautiful wide boulevard is the main street of Asmara, lined with palm trees, shops, a cathedral, old cinema and cafes. It is very pleasant to walk from one end to the other. At dusk it becomes active with strolling locals.

The worst is trash is throwing by the youth everywhere. Cleaning is not made on daily basis. It is also crowded by vendors selling useless Chines products. There are... More

Liberation Avenue is a really well preserved example of Italian colonial architecture. Asmara ,or " Piccola Roma" , is a jewel. This was the Italian side of the city. You may ask to visit the cinemas and theater along the Avenue. A magic experience in an extremely complex Country. Max prudence if you want to talk to locals. Don't put... More

A very lively night full of activities and entertainment, is the New Year's Eve, in Asmara. It was my first time in many years and I found it so enjoyable. Asmara people start gathering in Harenet Street just before dawn and by 10 pm, the place is full. You can enjoy different activities, including cultural dances, horse riding, etc etc.... More

This is the place to see and be seen in Asmara. Don't forget to stop in at one of the many street cafes and enjoy a cappuchino or machiatto beverage.
