Nothing monumental about any architecture in The Gambia and you will find some more interesting if empty modernistic office buildings dotted about. And this is no monumental arch of significance. Bland white concrete that has aged reasonably well. Built post '94 to celebrate the military coup, which has now itself just ended in a mess of lost cash and economic... More

There is nice place to see, having excellent view to Banjul from its top balcony. Banjul is one store city, so it is a topmost point from where you can take nice shots and views to all city. Please, mind that elevators inside the column are usually broken, so you will need to climb up the spiral steps to the... More

My guess is that they built this place for "once a year" parades. It look very communistic. But there is a nice small museum in the arch (entrance fee 50D = 1 Euro), you get a good view over Banjul from the top floor balcony. And there is a free toilet next to it. :)

Visited the arch, was OK lovely view stairs were quite dark and damp as a cleaner was washing them. Not somewhere you would spend a lot of time doing as not a lot at the top just for the view .

This is a concrete building. The inside was complete empty. You can climb to the top of the building to have an overview of Banjul. The view isn't great (nothing particular to see in Banjul). Entrance was 50 dalasi or +/- 1 euro. Visit takes 5 minutes

Built to commemorate the coup on 22/7/94 this huge impressive looking arch is well worth a visit if you are in the area. You can climb the steps to take pictures and you will also get far reaching views when you get to the top.

Great to see this monument newly created in Gambia. We went to see this beautiful arch and building at its slender. The history is very interesting about the revaluation that took place. Lovely restaurant here with goof coffee and food. Parking area also at the venue.
