I visited Martyrs square it's a One of my favorite places in whole Tripoli and it is close to Harbor area, and nice view of Mediterranean sea,I come by Martyrs square, it's a good site, beside red castle and many old buildings,there are nice restaurants located nearby along with the main Souq which is selling everything from clothing,spices, jewelry, gold,handy-crafts.... More

Place wide open beside red castle of tripoli In middle of it there is fountain of horses and facing jumhouria Bank Surrounded by many old buildings

I was taking a tour on foot in the city and come by Martyrs square, it's a good site, nothing much there to see, but it was good any way to have some fresh air

I visited here before the revolution and it used to be one of my favourite places to go! Everything is so near by and the old bank next to it is gorgeous and so well preserved! I really enjoyed shopping for gold in the souk and looking for traditional clothing as well. I hope it's still like it used to... More

I visited Martyrs square, before the Revolution when it was called "green square' most of local government offices are located here, and it is very close to Harbour area, and the views of mediterranean sea. There are nice restaurants located nearby along with the main souq which is massive selling everything from clothing, spices,jewellery/gold etc. and handi-crafts.

If one day Libya government can place the security in Tripoli and a sensitive mayor takes the control, this beautiful land can be the heart of North Africa, even Mediterranean, by converting it to a nice square full of people instead of car park. Lovely square, existing trees, historical buildings surrounding the square, old medinah, seawater penetrating into the land,... More

I was there 3 weeks ago, looks nothing like that, someone is having a field day with photo shop, i noticed there is no rubbish lying around, thats very very unusual for Tripoli...

A lively square with obviously a lot of history. There are a few places where you can sit and watch people coming and going. The atmosphere was generally very good and people were very friendly. It is suare in centre of tripoli in front of red castle or saraya hamra historic castle containing tripoli national museum and there is 4 horses fountain in one square corners ...in day the place is crowded
