This is a fascinating place to spend half an hour walking round - the sights and smells are fantastic. So much variety of fruits, vegetables and spices and a very quaint stall outside selling dried fish!

You have to know your prices and know how to bargain Example: Sarong Rs500 at the airport Rs300 at the shops and starting price at the market Rs200 at resorts Bargain down to Rs150 Bought 3 at Rs75 each... Depends totally on the seller. Some came down, while others didn't. Do NOT buy spices here. They start at supposedly Rs1300... More

With many stalls selling all the fruit vegetables and crafts available in Mauritius it is an interesting place to spend a few hours. Recommended.

Good for a wonder of local produce especially fruits and vegetables. If you are buying souvenirs remember to bargain!

We've been there when it is nearly closed, but overall feel that it is quite dirty and unkempt, although cuirous with spices and fruits and things like that. Not a fan to be honest.

We did manage to find some nice children's clothes to take home and it was interesting to wander about this very busy space. The fruit... More

This is a covered market where they sell clothes, spices, vegetables, toys, etc. Very cheap looking, poor quality stuff. Good to do a quick round. Was not to my liking.

Fun walk, not so impressed by actual buying opportunities . But I would recommend all to walk through , who knows you might see something you really need !

in this covered market one can see (and buy) all the typical vegetables and condiments of Mauritian cuisine. Rather hot inside, though!
