Amazing place, relaxing, pure and beautiful !! The trip from Maputo is made by boat takes about 2.5h but it is beautiful. On the island you can visit the Island of the Portuguese, walk in the immense virgin paradises to lose sight of and take a bath in the clean waters. There are small restaurants where sea food abounds.

We snorkeled on the Western side with guides from Machangulo Beach Resort. The Coral reefs are spectacular and visibility was good even on an overcast rainy day, as it's fully protected. There were kids as young as 7 with us and while families , everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves . If you have an under water camera you should definitely use... More

4 nights at Nahyeeni lodge on inhaca island was absolutely bliss. I could not fault this piece of tranquil heaven. It's important to plan your days but be adventurous and willing. The staff are all helpful and willing. Remember you are on an island and not everything is available all the time. However there is ample available if you connect... More

I'm hoping to provide some insight into the trip to and from Inhaca island as very little information is found online and locals all provide conflicting information. We took the government ferry on a Sunday morning. The ferry only departs around 8am but it is advisable to get there by 7am to purchase a ticket (400Mt one way). If you... More

This island is beautiful, peaceful, great for vacays, it's one of my fav destinations, the downside though is the lack of luxurious hotels at the centre, most of them are average! An island this beautiful deserves classy hotels for the full experience!

The excursion is great if you can rent a boat and share the expense, also if you choose a sunny and quiet day. The sea can be very rough, especially in the afternoon (try not to come back too late). It is not recommended for small children nor for people suffering from their backs. Once the transfer is overcome, the... More

Inhaca is a beautiful quiet and peaceful island across the bay form Maputo. It has a fancier hotel and some cheap alternatives. The beaches right on the docking port are not that fantastic, but the Portuguese Island (Ilha dos Portugueses) just 10 minutes away on a local boat is fantastic. And the beach near the lighthouse is fantastic as well.... More

The world is discovering this tropical paradise. Miles of windswept and sand-scoured dunes of Indian Ocean beaches on one side, with seaturtles hatching by the thousands. On the other a safe bay to play in with mangrove forests, incredible birdlife, monkeys, bushbabies, reefs to snorkel, flying flocks of flamingoes flapping and frolicking. Sorry. Where was I? Oh yes, Such a... More

We went here for a day visit, was really beautiful and nice but the ferry is horrific if you don't rent your own speed boat. The island has limited restaurants and the food is not so great.
