to visit this island that was the departure point for slaves sold to the west was a particularly deep experience. it is hard to believe the atrocities man can impose on fellow humans.

Its a a quick ferry ride away from Dakar say 15 to 20 mins, but one should make note of the timings of the various sights in the island before going there as they have opening, closing and Lunch hours. The price of the ferry...More
