Mogran 'family park' is closed to the public. The old playground is derelict and overgrown. At the gate were some soldiers who asked 20 SDG to let me through. I found their behavior suspicious and asked for a ticket. They redirected me to a shop,...More

As you look at the merging rivers from this extraordinary spit of land, the Blue Nile flows on your right from Lake Tana in Ethiopia and the White Nile on your left from Uganda. Where they meet 'the confluence of the Nile' you can sometimes...More

It was disappointing not to have a picture spot from which one can take photographs of this great point. This area is the merging of two Niles in one. That is the merging of the blue and the white in Mogran to form the famous...More

The place where the blue Nile meets the white Nile, forming the River Nile.. You can, actually, see the two rivers of different colors and levels of turbidity,, join each other in a large stream going north towards Egypt

This should be No. 1 attraction in Khartoum, but unfortunately it is totally neglected. The two white and blue Niles are wonderfully joining together and continue for a while with their different speeds and water colors until they finally merge downstream.
