I really enjoyed my time in Bhutan, thanks to Druk Asia. The tour was well organised, there had no been issues with the hotels, and everyone was punctual. We had a mini van for the trip which was very comfortable as it had ample space for us 3. There was a suggested itinerary, but was also customisable. We chose to skip a visit to a museum and substituted it with a hike instead, as we wanted a bit more nature, I liked the flexibility. Most importantly, we had an excellent tour guide, his name is Sonam. He had very good English and was very knowledgeable. He made the visits to the Dzongs and Lhakhangs interesting by telling us stories and the history of the places. It would otherwise have been rather dull as visits to multiple Dzongs and Lhakhangs can get repetitive. Sonam was fun to be with, he cracked jokes now and again and was professional at the same time. He looked after my 76yo mother when we went up Tiger's Nest. He followed behind her and helped to carry water for her, while I was with my husband, as we were all walking at different speeds. Our driver Dorji was also great, he was a good driver and brought us all over Bhutan safely. He kept the van very clean and was never fussed about us going up with our dirty shoes, though we all made sure to brush any excess mud off before getting up the van. I highly recommend Druk Asia if you are planning a trip to Bhutan.

Being our first trip to Bhutan, our guide Tshering Dorji was extremely knowledgeable (& patient) in sharing the rich history & culture of Bhutan, even down to the unique bird/plant species found locally!! We loved the friendly rivalry during archery/darts in our traditional Gho & Kira; not forgetting our adventure at Tiger’s Nest!! 😊

Thank you Tshering Dorji for raising the bar and making our family trip a memorable one!! Dorji has encapsulated the natural beauty of Bhutan & its people: by showcasing the strength & resilience and bringing the stories to life! Highly recommended!! 👍

Our journey through Bhutan was a whirlwind of cultural immersion and spiritual enlightenment. Thanks to our dedicated guide, we delved deep into Bhutanese culture and Buddhism, gaining invaluable insights along the way. For enthusiasts of cultural and religious tourism, this tour is an absolute gem. Our driver's reliability was commendable, always ready to whisk us away to our next destination. Moreover, the warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff made us feel right at home. April in Bhutan offered the perfect blend of sunshine and cool breezes, ideal for both sightseeing and hiking adventures.

However, despite our best efforts to communicate our preference for hiking over temple visits to the trip organizer, our itinerary remained disappointingly rigid. Our guide assured us that our wishes would be accommodated, but when push came to shove, flexibility was sorely lacking. On one particular day, we found ourselves pleading for a change from temple visits to a hike, only to be met with a firm "no" from our guide. In addition, many of our "hikes" turned out to be uninspiring walks along roads following the car.

The climax of our dismay came with the much-anticipated Ura Yakchoe festival which was our primary reason for coming to Bhutan. For this, we extended our stay to 13 days. However, on the appointed day, we arrived at the village only to be informed that the festival was only starting the following day. The anticlimactic experience was compounded by aimless days towards the end of our trip, where the lack of structure left us feeling adrift and unfulfilled.

Furthermore, communication breakdowns plagued our interactions with the guides. Despite assurances of proactive engagement and a plethora of extra activities, including rafting, horse riding, and archery, we found ourselves constantly having to chase after these promised experiences.

In conclusion, our journey through Bhutan was a bittersweet experience. While the country's cultural richness and natural beauty left an indelible mark on our hearts, the disorganization and lack of responsiveness from our tour operators tainted our overall impression. As we reflect on our time in Bhutan, we can't help but wonder if a shorter stay would have sufficed to capture the essence of this enchanting land. Moving forward, we hope that tour organizers prioritize clearer communication and a greater commitment to fulfilling the expectations of their guests.

A trip to Bhutan was high on my list and a once in a lifetime experience for us, so I did a lot of research while planning this trip. I chose Druk Asia for their excellent reviews, informative website, and range of customizable itineraries.

I spent a lot of time working through a plan, and then covid struck and delayed us for three years. Most of my planning had to be re-done by then, but Druk Asia made it simple & easy for this leg of the trip.

We visited for 7 days / 6 nights, and had a wonderful time. Our guide & driver were so kind and took care of absolutely everything, making our visit care free. They even thought of little things, like umbrellas (for rain or sun).

Our guide Sangay Khandu made adjustments to our schedule on the fly to handle traffic issues, weather changes, our requests, and little things he noticed we'd prefer. We saw everything we wanted and more, and never spent time that felt wasted waiting around. I'm a planner, so I understand how much effort & energy that takes. It was a treat to have someone else handle everything well and not have to worry about it.

Our driver Leki did an amazing job driving, is a terrific photographer, and was fun to hang around, as well. He even fixed one of our cameras, while watching it for us. I love the photos he took on my camera - a nice memento.

We learned so much about Bhutan and met many lovely people, and one of the best parts was getting to know these two who took such great care of us and made us feel so welcome. I'll miss them (though we've stayed in touch on social media).

Choosing the right tour company is important, especially for a trip of a lifetime, and we have no regrets. I highly recommend Druk Asia.

We engaged DrukAsia to arrange for our 10-day Bhutan Holiday in March 2024. We visited the Western and Central Bhutanese towns of Paro, Thimphu, Punahka, Trongsa and Phobjikha.
It was our first trip to the Bhutan and Ugyen Dema from DrukAsia was very professional and efficient in getting the reservations for the hotels, tours, flights and visa done. All communication was timely, informative and clear, and we felt reassured at every step of the process that all arrangements were on track and made to our specifications. We were also provided with all the information needed, which helped make the trip a smooth and worry-free one.
But what truly made our trip special was our Tour Guide Tshewang Dema and Driver Topgay. In all our travels, we have not met a Guide with that ideal combination of deep knowledge and passion, as well as genuine warmth and natural disposition to care for the comfort and safety of their guests. Tshewang was by our side throughout and was equally adept at explaining the cultural and religious aspects of the sights and people, as she was at coordinating effectively with the hotels and restaurants to make our day trips and stay that much more comfortable. She also adjusted the itinerary as we went along to match our level of comfort and to our pace and requirements. She is both a Cultural and Trekking Guide. Her explanations of Bhutanese culture and religion were comprehensive and fascinating. She led us on treks to temples, through valleys, farms and villages in the various areas we visited. The highlight was the trek to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) after which she also took us up further through mountain paths mainly used by monks and pilgrims to a small lesser-known temple at a higher elevation overlooking Taktsang. The views were amazing and it was a perfect spot to take a rest, before the trek back down, far from crowds below.
Topgay our experienced Driver drove us safely on winding and narrow mountain roads, through fog and snow (Yes, it snowed for 2 days during our trip, nice!). He also had good knowledge of the flora and fauna from his other role as an experienced Trekking guide. He helped us to spot what was probably the last group of Black Necked Cranes left in the Phobjikha Valley as the rest were already on their way back to Tibet.
Thanks so much Tshewang and Topgay, you made it such a memorable trip for us. We will be back to Bhutan with family, and we hope that you will be able to take us out again.

What an overwhelming experience. From the 1st enquiry email to end of trip, Sangay Dorji from Druk Asia was personal, prompt and a support all the way organising the tickets, visa, itinerary. And the soulful trip - from the feel inside the Majestic Punakha Zhong, the Prohjika Valley hike from pine country to the scenic open valley below, the heavenly, tranqil Kila Nunnery at 4000 metres near the Chelele Pass, etc, etc. The very experienced guide Sonam and expert driver DeChen were like friends. One month after the trip and we are still missing this blessed land. Thanks Druk Asia and Soultrips. Heartfelt, soulful trip organised by Druk Asia (affliated with Royal Bhutan Airlines).

Druk Asia made our trip to Bhutan very smooth and enjoyable. Everything was organised for us in advance. We decided to extend one of our stays and it was dealt with by Sangay and the team quickly and with a minimum of fuss.

Can highly recommend!

My friend and I were greeted by Wang Gyel, the guide and the driver upon arrival into Bhutan International Airport. The next 11 days 10 nights of experience were out of the world! We booked the trip via DrukAsia.

Wang Gyel showcased an impressive knowledge of his country although he is below 30 years of age. He did his homework well, shared the local culture, history, and hidden gems added immense value to the experience. Both he and the driver had a genuine passion for their region and their job.

Without both of them, it is impossible for me to complete the hike up and down Tiger Nest. Their patience was admirable. We took off at 8.30am and returned to the base @ 4pm with short breaks in between.

Accommodation @ Thimphu, Punakha, Bumthang, Gantey and Paro were clean and food were organic vegetables and eggs from chicken in their own farm. Special shout-out to Dharma Siddha @ Punakha (Homestay) and Resort Thim Dorji @ Paro (Hotel by a Singapore Architect).

Trip to Bhutan was an experience that left a lasting impression. Of course, not forgetting the locals who are kind and very welcoming.
