Owner Terry Teigens conducted tour and he was magnificent. The house came alive as he led us through every room and described every cranny. Not to be missed as this was best thing going in Abilene and I've been to them all.

It was so unique because you actually got to be in the rooms, could actually play the piano, and we even got to use the bowling alley too! It is all authentic and the gentlemen showing the house knows all about it as he bought it from the original owners. The two sisters lived there till their deaths and shared... More

Visited Seelye Mansion while in Abilene, KS. What a treat ! The mansion has been lovingly restored and has many of the original features and furniture. The 3rd floor ballroom, basement bowling alley and lot of early 20th Century ceramic milk jars and containers. A must see if you ever visit Abilene, KS

Take a trip back in time at this well preserved home. It has not been rehabbed - most of it is original right down to the wall paper. Lights purchased as the 1904 world's fair and a bowling alley in the basement. Its a wonder of the midwest.

This is truly a beautiful home! Built in 1905, everything is original to the home. The owner Terry (and tour guide) gives an extensive history of the home. Block out a good three hours for the tour 😊.It's worth it! I went in April and the lilacs were in full bloom. Terry and the home are delightful; 11 bedrooms and... More

Terry is the best. He opens his home to people so they can enjoy the history as much as he does. So many wonderful relics maintained in mint condition it will astonish you. He lets you tour almost the entire house and even bowl.

This beautiful, historic, mansion contains a number of amenities that will dazzle most any visitor. The Brass lighting installed by Thomas Edison himself was made with a lost chemical finishing process that has allowed them to remain over 100 years with only dusting and still no tarnishing. The Grand Piano (often played for visitors by the mansion's current owner himself)... More

We have seen historic homes in almost 50 states and this ranks right up at the top. It was built in 1905 and contains all the furnishings and treasures of the original owners. The tour guide lived in the house until the daughters of the builder died. He has many stories to share and very knowledgeable. Nothing is roped off,... More
