This is one of the best place to visit if you would like to know more about the history of Nepal.the temples and statues carry the real history of Nepal the then art and sculpture.

We had a local Nepali guide take us through this amazing ancient group of buildings and towers. Almost seemed like a scene from Indianna Jones movies. Fascinating area with many colorful natives and religious sites too. Highly recommend a visit.

Renovation works are still going on over these tall towers. But you can still see some of the architectural and designing genius that were on show here before the quake hit. Hopefully they can return it to its original state as soon as possible

This dominant 9 storeyed Basantapur built in the Durbar square of Kathmandu known as Kathamandu tower, was built along with 3 other towers. Beautiful architecture and woodwork very interesting. There is a entry fee for tourists.

but sadly it was damaged by the earthquake. The struts that hold that support the tower has interesting erotic carvings. Out guide told us that the Hindu religion is very open minded...after seeing some of these carvings, I would agree!

Kathmandu had 4 kings who ruled that area and Dubar Square is a good examples of life under one of these kings. It was like a town with walls, temples and the king's palace which are very interesting, as well as shops and art galleries....More
