An amazing place for historical walk! Malla Dynasty's work of engineering magic! This is a reflection of the golden period of Nepal. It's shows the magic spell the world refers to as the Shangrila!!! Try the Newari food inside all restaurants, enter old freak street and live love the magic of the Malla's and the 70's hippie age.

Like so many others I was shocked by the devastation that has destroyed so many great old buildings and monuments. But they are slowly being rebuilt and done are still, just, standing! Please visit to see what was, and will be again!

The buildings here are really amazing and it's a more relaxed feel to it than the other squares and temples in Kathmandu. A lot of the smaller structures have been damaged by the earthquakes but still an lovely place to walk around.

It is one of those must-see places if staying in Kathmandu. Great history and historic places and the sights, smells and sounds of Nepalese life.
