Golfing in the Himalayas - who would have guessed?

With an open day on my hands in Pokhara, I decided to go golfing. I mean - how many times do you get to golf in the Himalayas? And what a great decision it was!! It was a clear day and Fishtail and Annapurna mountains dominated the skyline. The canyon golf course is unique enough but the mountains made the... More

Amazing experience with friendly staff and good equipment. I would recommend this to golfers and non golfers alike. Worth the short 15min drive from Pokhara

The Himalyan Golf Course is located in a valley about 150 metres below the surrounding land level and winds around and across the main river servicing the city. Some of the holes are interesting as you have to hit across the river, across chasms (100 metre drops) or an elevated tee about 70 metres above the fairway below. There is... More

I've played golf all over the world. THIS is one of my favorite golf courses ever. You hit over gorges, along rivers, amidst buffalo and sheep. The Himalayas are visible throughout the entire round. The caddies are tremendous. This couldn't get any more fun. My friends and I had SUCH a wonderful experience here. And it's only a 15 minute... More

AHHHHHMAZING and surreal golf course. Easily the most fun and eccentric and cool course I've ever played. Not only do you play in an insane gorge, but you often have to hit over water, cross bridges, dodge water buffalo (greens keepers) to retrieve a lost ball, but the 16th hole, the "abyss" is pspobably the most exciting single tee shot... Great golf course with excellent caddy. A must do for any golfer. The young ball boys were great. Course looks fantastic with views on every hole.

My husband had golfed here in 2002 when it only had 9 holes. He wanted me to come and see it for myself. Now it has an amazing 18 holes each with its own challenge. We had the best caddie, Sanjeev, and a fore caddie which helped keep track of the ball. A must see and experience for yourselves! I... More

My husband took his new best mate Jagan from Pokara mountain bike adventures to show him golf. They had a fantastic time in the breathtaking terrain. Make sure you buy a cap to make your friends jealous and take photos of the challenging holes. First few holes are a bit tame but then....game on! Be ready for the 300m walk... More

Who can say they played golf with the Himalayas in the background? This course is sweeping in its beauty (16 holes are played in a ravine with roaring mountain river) but steep in it's green fee (spent close to $100 for green fee, rental clubs, balls, ball boy, caddy & range balls). The course is not in the best shape... More

Wow, the view is breathtaking. The pricing is to high for Nepali standards, yet worthwile. Not only for the game but the goats, sheep and children will make your day. Not for a quallifing game but relax, enjoy and play. total cost per person is about 70 euro including balls, rent and pickup service at the hotel in Pokhara.
