It is a simple cave which is very well maintained at the entrance. It feels very cold when inside this cave. The entire walk inside the cave will not take much time (5-10 mins)

The cave itself is not that bad. Nepali people at the entrance will give you a torch and automatically start telling you something guiding you though the most iconic (if I can say like that) spots of the inside parts of the cave.
There you'll need to climb and cralw what will give you some kind of emotions and make you really filthy. However the most disappointing part is awaiting for you in the very end. Once you step out of the cave and wash your hands entrepreneurial Nepali guide will tell you to pay for his service definitely not letting you know in advance! Make sure he'll ask you at the entrance where you are from. UK? Europe? Best of luck🍀🤞
They do try to tell you that they usually take 8-10k rupees for guiding, but only for you it's 2k. Don't be frivolous to give even that some of money. 200 rupees is the max if you want to thank them. If you don't - just go away.
It's a way better to go to the Bat Cave nearby where you don't need to climb or take a guide cause there's so much space there and more bats what's more amazing comparing to getting dirty and tired from the first.
P.s. People working there know that you've been cheated already in Mahendra Cave, so they'll try to reduce the price for guiding, but again - you don't need it.

So many people all trying to access a single route that leads deep into a cave with very little to see at the end of the walk. A waste of time

Even if you have never seen a cave before, this is still a waste of 150npr & a taxi fare.
Just boring, nothing to see, maybe only popular to locals who have a small shrine at the back of the cave.
Go to the Bat cave down the road but skip this one. Nice icecreams at the front entrance where you can sit and mutter about tourist ripoffs!!

While we were in the area of the Devi Falls we decided to visit this attraction that was only a five minute walk further. The cave is tucked away on a street of souvenir stalls. The cave has been recently renovated and is certainly busy with tourists and locals alike. It is very commercialized and the day we visited very busy as it is a sacred site for Hindus. The circular stairs (probably 500 or more!) lead down to a cave that has been carved out of the limestone rock. There are some stalactites and stalagmites once you get to the bottom but be careful as the stairs become very wet and slippery from the water that drips continuously from the limestone.

The caves are not impressive at all, neither is the ground. It's crowded and I'm not sure why we should bother to buy a ticket. However, it is a companion attraction to Devi's Fall. If you do decide to come (which I assume you simply have too much time to kill), do Devi's Fall first then visit the caves.

Stopped by here and there were many young Hindu Nepalis visiting. While I had some fun making photographs I would not suggest this for the claustrophobic type. But if you are adventurous it is worth visiting. Bring a headlamp because you'd want both hands free (and not holding the flashlight on your phone) in case you slip.

Beautiful cave. Just saw from outside. Did not fancy a walk due to illness but next time would definitely do it.

The cave is full of rubbish, there is very little to see and just simply a waste of time, DO NOT go here and waste your money.

GUIDES: The sign says guides required. They are not unless you want to go out the alternative exit. This exit is only for fit people due to the 20’ vertical rock climb and exit passage which is about 50cm x 30cm. I did fine being 5’3” 140lbs. My 6’2” 220 lb friend could not fit out. Our guide was helpful in holding the lights and told us about the caves rock formations.
Lights are offered free of charge when purchasing your entrance fee. When climbing out he told me where to place my feet which was very helpful.
CAVE: the cave itself is beautiful and you will see bats if you go during the daytime hours. Hundreds of bats were sleeping and clung to the cave ceiling. You can walk in without a guide and exit the same way. The guide takes you only about 10 meters further without bats, just a rock climb.
