Red House

I love this brick structure! Though there were a lot of people during the time I was here. You can consider checking the flea market during weekends.

The Xiamen Red House was built over 100 years ago in 1908. It was an important entertaining center for Japanese in the area. Now it's the landmark for Ximending

Nice shopping area. Quiet and many stalls to choose from. Just right opposite the mrt. Easy to find and also a few pubs behind there.

We went to see the local artists and their work. The building was very nice and the merchandise tastefully displayed, but many of the items made were like arts/crafts, not that interesting. I would recommend seeing the Eslite Spectrum building at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park instead. The modern building is easy to navigate and beautifully styled. The items... More

Redhouse is located in the Ximending. It is very convenient for everyone who are travelling in Taipei. You can find the history of these building inside, just like a kind of small museum. There are different local designer's stores inside the building. Everyone of them has a story about their brand and products. If you are loving these kind of... More

Came here for visit to the small local artists and their wares. The crowd wasn't exceptionally large for a Saturday night although the queue for bittergourd drink was long. A place to see local wares and designs and to try local delicacies.

The place is on renovation now. The store at the back that sells creative stuff is still open for business though.

I could not take in all of this building since it was under construction. A lot of cafes around and inside you'll find small designer corners.

This is Taipei's gay village with about 6/7 bars all outdoors but under cover. Drinks slightly pricey but expected really as it's gay. Food served at a few places. Quietly spring week but busier at weekends. Bars open til about 2am at wknd. Nice chilled atmosphere. Very good table service. 1 min walk from Ximen MRT

The red house was being renovated when I was there but there area right outside of it was busy with little outdoor craft marked and behind the red house other buildings were open seeking the work from local artisans, very cool area to browse and shop in the evening!!

Thank Francis L
