The Taipei Zoo is on the higher end of Asian Zoos. Elephants, camels, various primates, and an area with local animals. As of February 2017 the hippo enclosure was going through a major expansion with a new facility under construction. Entry fee is very reasonable at only 60NTD (US$2) and preschoolers and younger are free. The zoo grounds are clean... More

We have not been to the New Taipei Zoo should it not invited by our youngsters...saying that this is the biggest zoo in Asia! We tagged along and we're really in for a pleasant surprise. The walk ways were all well planned out in different sections, maps are easy to follow that means one can find their favourite animals easily.... More

Taipei Zoo has made my dream come true of finally seeing a panda in person. The zoo's selection of animals in display is regional. It has a separate section for animals seen in Australia, Malaya, and the other countries as well. The penguins and bears are fun to see and well-taken care of. However, be sure to have enough patience... More

Generally thought this Zoo was ok but some of the pens were a bit small for the animals and slightly cruel. Good facilities and nice size, vibe. Shame the Panda house was shut though :(

The only reason why my wife and I went here is to see the panda. It wasn't sleeping when we got there but after a bit of patience, the panda started strutting. We had good pictures and videos. Souvenir shop has some nice items to bring home too.

We went during the CNY peak period so it can be a little more crowded than usual. Seems like the zoo is not only popular with tourists but also with many locals who enjoy bringing their young children to see the animals. They have a wide range of animals from different continents and the place is quite expansive. We spent... More

Coming from the US, we were blown away by how cheap the entrance fee was (like 1/10th the cost of what we would pay to go to any zoo), yet the zoo has plenty of animals to see, including obviously pandas. To see the pandas you would need to get your time slot ticket (no additional cost after you get... More

This is a well-kept small zoo. The biggest attraction is the Giant Panda baby. In fact, that's the only reason we went there. The Panda baby was awake and walked around while we were there. The plexiglass however reflects sun light that prevent taking good photos. The Koala's were also cute. They were all sleeping, so not much action. Overall,... More

the zoo is ridiculously cheap at $60 twd ($2 USD) but has a world class collection in large well spaced enclosures. the only criticism as a zoo is that the grounds are so large that it takes lots of walking to see it all (took me five hours but i am a real nature lover). to minimise walking and maximise... We love this Zoo. It not only offer Taiwan only variety but also has Panda bears, Koala Bears, Penguins. The landscape is beautifully done. However, I recommend utilize mosquito spary due to the local climate.
