The largest zoo in Asia, this was original a private zoological garden. The giant panda house, Formosan animal area, koala house and Asian tropical rainforest area are of particular note.

This was our second trip to the Taipei zoo and I was more impressed with it than the first time. The strongest point is the ability to see a lot of “zoo favorites” like giraffes, hippos, and zebras up close— closer than at some other...More

The problems of this zoo run root deep. Yes, it's got all the bells (giant panda) and whistles (koala) a prominent international zoo should have but what they have in quantity they lack in quality. I get why there are many negative reviews focusing it...More

To begin with I'd have to admit I am not a big fan of zoos. The idea of animals held and bred in captivity doesn't sit well with me and makes me sad. Hence this was a visit I wasn't looking forward to but I...More

This Zoo was so big, we spent the day and barely covered ground. If you want to open your mind to the natural world, you must get here! They have a tram that will take you around. We should have used this, because to walk...More

I took my 4 year old daughter here on an unpromisingly grey February day. We had a great time. The zoo is immense. They claim to be Asia's largest zoo and, based on the fact that I think we perhaps only saw 25% of it...More

We had a family outing mid December, and the Zoo did not disappoint. Super easy to get in with our MRT Easy Cards, we did take advice and catch the 'bus' to the top of the zoo and walked down. I think walking both ways...More

We enjoyed the Taipei Zoo with our 7 and 10 year old children. There are so many great exhibits and lots about Taiwan native species. We were there for 4 hours and could have stayed for 6 or 8. It's big, but there is a...More

Shouldn't be a problem to get in. You can either purchase your ticket at the entrance or simply tap your EasyCard for payment.

I would not recommend this. it makes more sense to visit zoo first and take a break at maokong. most likely you'll spend at least half day in zoo. Then you take gondola up to Maokong, find a nice tea house and enjoy sunset... More

hi! just take the MRT. Much cheaper and stops just a few 100 meters from the zoo. I took the Gondola on the way back just for fun otherwise you can certainly take the MRT back too.
